About the event
Mel Richmond, an ER resident, in tandem with Vail Club 50 is working with Katie Jenkins, Wildfire Mitigations Specialist at Eagle County, to host a session for our members.
VC50 is interested in spreading the word to the greater community and would like to extend the invitation to all Eagle Ranch Residents. Topics covered will be defensible space creation, fire-adapted landscaping, home- hardening, emergency preparedness and go bag information. With the current lack of snow this summer could put our communities at greater risk for wildfires.
Katie also operates a home assessment program, which is a free program provided by Eagle County during which she makes site-specific recommendations that homeowners can tackle on their own to prevent an ignition on their structures.
