Eagle Ranch Scarecrow Contest Official Rules

Scarecrows will be displayed on Capitol Street and Sylvan Lake Road from October 2 through October 25. Registration form should be completed online using this link: Contest Registration

Contest is open to Eagle Ranch families, schools, businesses, organizations, clubs and individuals. There is no fee for entry.

All scarecrows must be delivered to the Eagle Ranch HOA offices between the hours of 12:00 pm September 25 to 12:00 pm October 6. The construction should be durable as they may be subjected to severe weather conditions. Scarecrow entry sponsors are required to monitor the state of their scarecrow for the duration of the exhibit.

All scarecrows must be designed so that they will stand upright and supplied with the materials necessary to display them in an upright manner. Commercially made scarecrows are not allowed. 

Scarecrows must be in good taste and appropriate for viewing by the public and families. They must be absent of adult, political and religious themes. No frightening, scary, violent, gruesome or bloody entries will be accepted.

Display location of the scarecrows will be determined by the HOA staff. Business Owners wishing to display their entry in front of their location on Capitol Street or Sylvan Lake Road may do so without bringing it to the HOA office. A registration form is still required by September 29 so that accommodations may be made for placement of other entries. Any entry not registered will be removed.

Voting on scarecrows will begin on October 9 and continue through October 25 at 4:00 p.m. Voting is open to anyone. Voting will be done online through the Eagle Ranch Association website (www.EagleRanchHOA.net).

Winners will be announced November 2, 2023.

Scarecrows must be reclaimed by the entrant the weekend of October 28-29.

All scarecrows not reclaimed by October 30 will be removed and discarded.
